Maintanance update

Dear Friends,

We apologize for the unexpected delay during this maintenance phase. Once we started upgrading the SSL and finalizing the setups we have decided to finish all other pending Cisco updates as the system is experiencing less traffic over the weekend and the effect on the system should be minimal. We are expected to resume full operation shortly.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for unexpected delay.
Your patience is apprecitaed.

(Un)scheduled Maintanance

Dear Friends,

We are currently installing updates that became available just recently for our routers. This procedure should approximately take not more than 5-9 hours, which also includes the restarting of all hardware and testing. We sincerely apologize for this unplanned event, but keeping our hardware up to date is one of the highest priorities as it assures the most secure operation.

We appreciate your patience.

Important update for other payment systems

Please note, effective immediately no other payment system is permitted to open Liberty Reserve account and maintain any funds in it for the purpose of exchanges between Liberty Reserve and other payment system. If there is a need for such transactions - please turn to exchange providers listed on our Buy/Sell LR form.
If accounts of other payment systems are discovered they will be closed and their owners will be asked to liquidate the funds within 48 hours. As per advise of our legal department, these measures are necessary to protect integrity and security of our web site and to decrease the amount of complaints we get from users of compromised accounts of other, less secure, payment systems.

Important updates

Dear friends,

a) That only exchangers that are not listed in our directory already have to work with Goldexchange.eu. All others, may continue to work with Liberty Reserve as before.

b) Debit cards are currently scheduled to be launched February 26, as we are awaiting the pressing machine that will stamp out the cards itself. The rest is ready. Those willing to obtain the debit card will have to undergo a verification procedure which can be started now.

c) Materials from inauguration party should become available soon and links to publications will be posted here on our blog as they become available. Because our party was at the end of January, all monthly publications will feature it in February/March editions.

d) Our donation to help Red Cross relief efforts has been matched, and is currently being filed with organizations that work on the scene around the clock. We expect to have detailed and audited reports from them within five to seven business days which will also become available on our blog.

Please stay tuned for more exciting news.

LibertyGuard - New tool in fighting phishing and fake web sites.

Phishing web sites are setup by hackers made to look as any genuine web site, such as Liberty Reserve (or Paypal, eBay, Bank of America, etc.). The main function of a phishing or fake web site is to gain access to your account by stealing your login details via login forms that look and feel as were real. Users who do not check the exact URL address of the web site they are on may fall victims of these malicious setups.

In continuous effort to make your browsing experience as safe as possible, Liberty Reserve has created an open source Firefox add-on that will protect you from the fake phishing web sites and will alert you when you are on a genuine Liberty Reserve web site. This add-on in will also work with other web sites.

With the help of your reports of new phishing web sites we will be able to protect all our clients against this important threat. This open source plug in requires Firefox browser, which is much more secure, in our opinion, than Microsoft Internet Explorer. At this time, this plug in is in beta test mode and is recommended for experienced users. More than 100 users have downloaded already and began to contribute to our safety on-line. Join others!
